Job Description
Peter Majo Landscaping is seeking a Landscape Technician (NOC 2225) for Greater Vancouver area. It is a full-time, permanent position, 30-40 hours/week, $23.00/hour. Vacation 4%. Sorry, we do not offer any benefits. Start date as soon as possible.
As a Landscape Technician, you will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes.
- Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
- Plan and construct landscaped environments which include trees, lawns, fences, decks, patios and other landscape structures.
- Visit clients, assess the health of lawns, and apply fertilizer, pesticides and other lawn care products
- Perform and oversee all hardscape installations tasks
- Install paver patios, river rock/ irrigation/ patio installation
- Supervise and coordinate the activities crew of labourers
- Complete the installation of individual landscape elements such as plant layout and installation, boulder installation, step construction, natural stone installation, low voltage lighting
- Meet company and client standards
Requirements:
- Must have completed high school or equivalent.
- Must have at least 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
- Must have excellent organization skills.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Must be proficient with tools
- Time management is a MUST - with the ability to meet deadlines while exceeding customer expectations
- Ability to work as an individual or as a team member
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers
- Willingness to discuss other opinions and ideas
- Strong work ethic and great attitude
- Must be able to provide at least one professional reference upon request.
