Position: Construction Carpenter

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Wage Rate and hours: $29.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, occasional overtime is required.

Start date: as soon as possible

Job Location: various locations across Lower Mainland area depending on job projects

Language: English

Education: no education is required. Completion of related trade certificate or apprenticeship program is an asset.

Experience: 1-2 years of related experience is required. If you have completed related trade/apprenticeship program, you will be considered even without prior experience.

Job duties:

• Ensuring ladders, scaffolds and other tools are in good working order
• Maintaining cleanliness of construction sites
• Attend safety meetings
• Ensure proper use of hand and power tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures as per job requirement
• Read and interpret blueprints of construction plans, drawing and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts as per to building codes using measuring tools
• Perform work as per the city building codes and project requirements
