Job Title: Roofer Helper (NOC 75110)

Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, full-time, permanent

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage: $21.00-$24.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

No of Positions: 4

Job Duties:

• Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites
• Mix, pour and spread materials
• Assist tradespersons such as roofers and carpenters in construction activities
• Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
• Assist in carrying heavy equipment
• Help roofers to do layout
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS 

Education: No formal education required.

Experience: No formal experience required. Successful candidates will be provided training.

Language: Basic English

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Tight deadlines, Manual dexterity.

Personal Suitability: Client focus, Flexibility, Team player, Reliability.

• Ability to work in confined spaces, as well as high height levels.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to be mobile and willing to travel to various job sites within lower mainland and Fraser Valley
