Job Description

In-Joy Montessori is a group Montessori daycare within Burnaby, BC. We provide childcare services for infants and preschoolers. We are currently looking to hire an Early Childhood Educator Assistant responsible for the following:

• Recognize and respond to the needs of each child using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behavior management techniques
• Responsible for planning, preparing and implementing stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage children's creativity and learning and promote each child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development
• Set scheduling and enforce routines for when going to the restroom, when to wash hands, eat lunch, participate in learning activities and play outside
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Responsible for the supervision, safety and wellbeing of the Children. Remove or repair any items that pose a threat to the children.
• Participates in the overall operation of the program and center; maintains regular and open communication with program team members and co-workers
• Establish and maintain regular communication with parents
• Observe and record relevant information on each child's progress as required
• Participate in ongoing professional development and attends/maintains all mandatory training
• Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties

Highlight of Qualification:

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience.
• Early Childhood Educator Assistant License issued by ECE registry is required.
• Emergency child care first aid and CPR and First Aid Certificate is required
• Montessori Training from AMI or AMS is required.
• Must be in possession of police clearance and medical examination.
• At least two-year working experience in Early Childhood Education field.
• Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Bending, crouching, kneeling is required.
• Ability to maintain a positive environment for children.
• Good time management, problem solving, and critical thinking skills are assets.
• Strong work ethic and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, energetic and responsible.
  
  

Job Details:

• Wage: $24.00/ Hour~$28.00/ Hour
• Hour of Work: 32~40 hours per week
• Work Location: 6808 Beresford Street, Burnaby, BC V5E 4M6
• Benefits: Dental Insurance & Extended Medical Insurance & 10 days paid vacation
