Job Description

Terms of Employment: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00 per hour for 35 - 44 hours per week

Experience: 2 years or more

Location: 131 King St, St. Catharines, ON

Job Duties:

• Review the sushi menu regularly and make recommendations to the owner for new sushi items andingredients;
• Decide item size, prepare and wrap sushi and sashimi on the menu;
• Prepare traditional Japanese dishes including tempura, teriyaki, and udon, etc. as listed on the menu;
• Assist in hiring new helpers and train them in use of Japanese cutlery and equipment, sushi wrappingtechniques, and hygiene and safety practices;
• Supervise the activities of sushi helpers and assign their duties;
• Check and monitor the quality of raw and cooked products;
• Monitor the inventory of food supplies and ingredients, and determine the quantity to purchase;
• Contact suppliers, select seafood, meat, produce and other food ingredients;
• Negotiate prices and confirm delivery arrangements;
• Recommend price adjustment of sushi items to the owner when necessary.
