GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising employees, work activities and resources necessary for all aspects of sanitation in a food processing environment, as well as ensuring proper training and use of equipment used within the sanitation processes. Duties are to be performed in accordance with good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and established occupational health and safety, food safety and quality, and regulatory guidelines.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervises, trains, and coordinates sanitation team ensuring compliance to safety, GMPs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Validates new 3rd Party procedures and ensure it is compliant with the MOBA
· Interacts and communicates effectively as a leader, coordinating with production, maintenance, quality assurance and management.
· Follows up and checks on Break time adherence, employee issues and concerns, and reports back to Supervisor and Plant Manager
· Complies with all GMPs, safety, and QA practices with respect to food safety and quality. Understands, supports and trains direct reports on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the Quality Assurance Program.
· Ensures food safety through Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), allergen risk management, and prevention of contamination.
· Develops and modifies SOPs as necessary.
· Responsible for Farm room clean up each week consisting of approx. 4 hours weekly
· Responsible for maintaining accurate and legible documentation in support of day to day activities.
· Maintains the master sanitation schedule.
· Monitors chemical usage and titrations.
· Recommends suggestions for continuous improvement.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to occasionally work alternating work shifts, weekends and OT and fill in for production when short staffed.
· Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness, with high standards for cleanliness.
· Demonstrated capability to organize people and activities, and how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow.
· Must be able to operate industrial equipment such as pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and pressure washers.
· Strong planning, organization and communication skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years’ related work experience in a food processing organization.
2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
· Strong understanding of Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Allergen Risk Management.
· Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems;
· Solid understanding of WHMIS, MSDS, PPE, and Chemical Hazards.
· Understanding of dilution and standards for chemical usage in food production areas. Ability to perform dilutions, titrations, and other simple chemistry tests.
SHIFTS: Night Shift – 10:30pm to 7:00am (Monday – Friday) with availability on weekends if required.
