MANAGER, SECURITY

SUMMARY:

Reporting to Director, Community Safety, the Manager, Security will support maintaining and enhancing the security infrastructure of the campus. 

Specifically, the Manager, Security will be responsible for:

• supervising, training, and scheduling contract security guards; 
• responding to security incidents and coordinating a response (including in the evening and on weekends); 
• checking and accessing daily activity reports, Incident Reports, daily responsibility sheets;
• managing Huron’s Key and Access Card system; 
• ensuring compliance with all security policies and procedures; 
• conducting regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements;
• documenting incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences; 
• patrolling campus, checking the condition of equipment, supplies and ensuring safety of the Huron community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
• Certification in First Aid with AED and CPR C Level
• Minimum of two (2) years’ related work experience in a security supervisor role
• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a security related field
• Experience working in a post secondary or educational setting
• Strong knowledge of key and access card systems, including Salto Systems or similar key and access card systems
• Familiarity with various general and security software, including Jira or similar incident management tools
• Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks / deadlines and accurately complete duties in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in both independent work and collaborative teamwork
• Strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment
• Demonstrated judgement and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of Huron
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with university staff, faculty, students, and visitors
• Ability to professionally collaborate with other emergency services such as Western Special Constables, London Police, London Fire, etc.  

Salary of $50,000 for a 35-hour work week, plus a comprehensive benefit and vacation package.
