Job Description

Job Summary

We have two immediate openings for qualified Early Childhood Educator Assistants.

-          Full Day Childcare Centre is Licensed for the care of Children 30 months to 10 years of age.

-          This position is to work with children ages: 30 months – 120 months

-          Working Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week between 7 am and 6 pm from Monday -Friday with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break

Location: 8756 162 St Surrey British Columbia V4N 1B5

-          Type of Employment: Full-time–Permanent

-          Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Duties 

The responsibilities of the role include,

• Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
• Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
  • Supports and responds to different learning styles in daily routines
  • ensures a safe environment for children in all spaces
  • Prepare snacks and assisting in housekeeping duties.
  • Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children.
  • Assisting  supervisors in keeping records.

Requirements and Qualifications

• § Grade 12 or equivalent.
• § Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program or post-secondary courses in early childhood education may be required.
• § 1-2 years of experience in working with early learners (0-12 years).

• § Licensing required
• § Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
• § First Aid and Foodsafe certification would be an asset
• § Applicant must be fluent in English
• § A satisfactory criminal record check is required
• § Ability to work effectively with parents and caregivers,

Wages and Benefits

Salary: $ 20.00 CAD hourly
