Job Description
• Identifying ripe and mature mushrooms ready for harvest based on size, color, and other visual cues.
• Using hand tools like knives or shears to carefully cut mushrooms from the growing medium.
• Preparing mushroom beds & sorting harvested mushrooms by size, quality, and variety.
• Properly packaging sorted mushrooms in containers or crates according to specific guidelines and industry standards.
• Assisting in maintaining and cleaning mushroom growing rooms, ensuring optimal growing conditions for future crops.
• Regularly cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Keeping an eye out for signs of pests or diseases that can affect mushroom crops and reporting any issues to supervisors.
• Conducting quality checks on harvested mushrooms to ensure they meet market standards and customer expectations.
Requirements
• No formal education is required.
• Experience is an asset, however; on the job training will be provided.
