Wage:                          $20/hour, plus a percentage of pooled tips to be allocated among all non-service staff, based on hours worked

Vacation:                     4% in lieu of paid vacation

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position: 

• Supervise, co-ordinate, and schedule the activities of restaurant staff
• Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
• Establish work schedules and procedures
• Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
• Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
• Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
• Participate in the selection of restaurant staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures, and budgets
• Contribute to planning menus; determine related food and labour costs

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience: 

• At least 4 years of experience in food preparation or service are required; or alternatively, completion of a community college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management, or a related discipline is required
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Some supervisory experience is required
• Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
• Willingness to learn and to work in a team environment
• Organized, with attention to detail
• Respectful style of communication
• Passion for Mexican cuisine
