Job Description
A private home is seeking a Nanny to care for two school-aged children at their home in Toronto, Ontario. This is a permanent, full-time position of 40 hours/week with an hourly salary of $20.00. Regular working hours will vary depending on the parents’ work schedules. Additionally, overtime will be occasionally required and will be paid at a rate of 1.5x after 44 hours. The primary language of work for the position is English.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Supervising and providing attentive and nurturing care for two children, primarily within the employer’s residence;
- Planning, preparing and serving meals for children in keeping with the special dietary restrictions associated with celiac disease;
- Overseeing the children’s daily routine such as bathing, dressing and organizing age-appropriate activities daily such as games, craft activities, and outings;
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment for the children;
- Keeping records of daily activities and health information regarding each child;
- Assisting children with their homework, extracurriculars, and activities;
- Tending to the emotional well-being of the children and supporting their social development; and
- Taking the children to and from school and other various appointments and activities.
You must have the following qualifications:
- Experience working with or caring for children;
- Familiarity with celiac disease, asthma and autism;
- Experience with developing nutritional meals for children;
- Strong understanding of dietary restrictions and accommodations for celiac disease;
- Experience working with children who have been diagnosed with celiac disease, asthma and/or autism is preferred; and
- Comfortable with pets in the home.
