Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Technician – Machining & TIG Welding to join our production team. This role is ideal for a machinist-focused technician with strong exposure to CNC and lathe machines, solid TIG welding skills, and a willingness to work hands-on in a shop environment. The successful candidate will support daily manufacturing operations, including machining assistance, TIG welding, grinding, and general production tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding to drawings, specifications, and quality standards (TIG proficiency required; MIG is secondary)
  • Support machining operations, including CNC and lathe machine setup, loading/unloading parts, and cycle monitoring
  • Assist with basic CNC and lathe troubleshooting and adjustments
  • Perform mechanical assembly of fabricated and machined components
  • Carry out grinding, deburring, polishing, and finishing tasks
  • Perform basic measurements and inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Communicate quality issues and improvement ideas to supervisors

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–5 years of experience in machining and/or welding within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong TIG welding capability
  • Experience or strong aptitude with CNC and lathe machines
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on shop work
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

  • BCIT Machinist diploma or related technical training
  • CWB welding certification
  • Experience in combined machining and welding roles
  • Basic CNC programming knowledge

Annual Salary
