Job Description:
Neighbourly Pharmacy Inc. is seeking a dedicated Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Accounting team. This full-time, permanent role is best suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, evolving environment. The successful candidate must possess a strong knowledge of business fundamentals and financial acumen and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of information processed within the company’s accounting systems. This position also requires the ability to think strategically and to lead and encourage members within the department.
Main Duties include:
Evaluating financial risks, preparing financial forecasts, financing scenarios and other documents concerning capital management, and writing reports and recommendations
Assisting with preparation of operating and investment budgets
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, including wages payable and other accrued liabilities, and ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items
Playing a key role in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including coordinating with other departments to meet reporting timelines
Owning and preparing period-close journal entries related to wage expenses, operating expenses, and below-EBITDA items
Planning short- and long-term cash flows and assessing financial performance
Providing insightful financial analysis and commentary, including identifying trends, highlighting accounting issues, and explaining variances to budget and forecast
Developing, implementing and using tools for managing and analyzing financial portfolio
Developing and updating financial or treasury policies
Leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting, systems, and workflows
Following up on financing projects with financial backers
Supporting external reporting requirements and information requests from business partners and other stakeholders
Advising on and participating in the financial aspects of contracts and calls for tender
Analyzing investment projects
Preparing a regular risk profile for debt portfolios
Participating in and supporting corporate-wide financial initiatives, acting as a subject-matter expert where appropriate
Assisting with the overall integrity of financial data, processes and business controls
Providing guidance and informal mentorship to junior team members as needed
Other duties as assigned
Employment Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, finance, economics or business administration
CFA or CPA designation or recognized equivalent is preferred
5 or more years of experience as a financial analyst/accountant
Team player: Ability to work collaboratively with team members and contribute to a positive team environment
