Specific Skills

• Prepare and bake a variety of dim sum bakery items and traditional Chinese baked goods
• Prepare doughs, batters, and fillings according to established recipes, including mixing, kneading, proofing, rolling, and shaping dough by hand or using baking equipment.
• Operate and monitor ovens and baking equipment, adjusting temperatures and baking times to ensure consistent quality, texture, and appearance.
• Draw up daily production schedules based on anticipated customer demand, menu offerings, and ingredient availability to ensure timely preparation and freshness of products.
• Assemble, portion, and finish baked goods, ensuring proper portion consistency.
• Monitor product quality throughout the baking process and make adjustments as needed to maintain authentic taste and texture of traditional Chinese bakery items.
• Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients accurately, following food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized baking workstation, including cleaning baking tools, equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, and report shortages or needs to the kitchen management.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards applicable to a commercial kitchen environment.
