Job Description
A private household in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Childcare Provider to care for three children, aged 12, 10, and 5. This permanent full-time role offers $25 per hr, requires 40-60 hours weekly, and includes 10 days of vacation. Regular working hours will vary depending on the parents’ working schedule but will be communicated in advance. Overtime will be paid at $37.50 per hour after 40 hours. The language of work for the position is English.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Supervising and providing full care and supervision for three children primarily within their residence, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Planning, preparing and serving nutritious meals to children.
- Organizing, managing and overseeing the children’s daily schedules and routines, including extracurricular activities, playdates, and school events.
- Conducting light housekeeping and cleaning tasks to maintain an organized and tidy home and ensuring a safe and clean environment for the children.
- Shopping for groceries and household supplies as required.
- Guiding and supporting children in personal hygiene practices and social development.
- Designing, organizing and implementing age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and growth.
- Supervising homework and assisting with school-related tasks.
- Managing school drop-offs and pick-ups, as well as extracurricular activities.
- Disciplining children according to the methods established by the parents.
- Keeping records of daily activities and health information regarding each child.
- Handling household administration, supervising cleaners and contractors as necessary.
- Ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of the children through attentive childcare.
- Assuming complete responsibility for childcare and household management in the parents' absence, adhering to their travel schedule.
- Accompanying the family on annual trips, continuing childcare responsibilities while traveling.
You must have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Extensive full-time childcare experience.
- Experience with managing schedules and routines.
- Experience with preparing nutritional meals for children.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and lead educational and recreational activities suitable for school-aged children.
- Willingness to travel with the family and adapt to changing schedules.
- First Aid certification and CPR training.
- Non-smoker.
- Professional references will be requested.
- Driver license required.
