Job Description

• Hand-pick vegetables for long hours while bending, crouching, and walking through field rows
• Harvest vegetables at proper maturity by cutting, pulling, or trimming using hand tools such as knives or clippers
• Sort vegetables in the field or packing area by size, colour, and quality standards
• Remove damaged, diseased, or overripe vegetables during harvesting and sorting
• Carry filled buckets and crates from field rows to collection or packing areas repeatedly
• Lift, load, and stack heavy crates (20–25 kg or more) onto pallets, trailers, or trucks
• Pack vegetables carefully into boxes or bins to prevent bruising or damage during transport
• Weigh produce using manual scales and adjust quantities as required
• Re-stack and organize packed produce to maintain stability and avoid breakage
• Apply fertilizers manually or assist in spreading fertilizers across fields as directed
• Assist with soil preparation duties such as digging, turning soil, and preparing planting beds
• Perform cutting, trimming, and pruning of plants to support healthy crop growth
• Pull weeds and clear unwanted plants from rows to maintain crop quality
• Assist with irrigation tasks such as setting up hoses, moving pipes, and monitoring water flow
• Help with planting seedlings or seeds by hand in prepared soil rows
• Operate basic farm equipment such as tractors or small machinery for hauling produce, moving bins, or assisting with field preparation (as required)
• Load and unload materials, tools, and harvested produce using tractors or trailers
• Perform routine checks and basic cleaning of tractors and equipment before and after use
• Assist with general farm maintenance, including cleaning work areas, bins, and tools
• Remove crop waste, leftover plants, and debris after harvesting
• Work in outdoor conditions including heat, rain, mud, and uneven terrain
• Perform repetitive physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Follow all farm safety procedures while handling tools, equipment, and heavy loads
