Job Description

Position: Purchasing Officer

Work Location: North Vancouver, BC, V7P 1E2

Wages: $30/h

Hours: 32h/ week

Job Description:

The employee will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Purchase of food products for being packaged and redistributed or for further processing by the company
  • Develop specifications for food products and supplies to be purchased and assess their qualities based on the requirements of the company
  • Invite tenders, consult with suppliers, and review quotations
  • Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts, or recommend contract awards
  • Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress, and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems
  • If needed hire, train, or supervise purchasing clerks.
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issue

Work Schedule:

  • The Employee shall work a minimum of 32 hours per week.
  • The Employee shall be paid overtime for any hours of work exceeding 40 hours per week.
