Job Posting: Commercial HVAC & Refrigeration Technician (NOC 72402)

Salary: $47.00 per hour

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time/40 Hours per week

Job Duties

• Install and overhaul comprehensive heating systems.
• Install refrigeration, ventilation, air handling, and air conditioning systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, gas codes, or other instructions to determine work requirements and plan methods or sequences of operation.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Prepare professional tenders and quotations for clients.
• Troubleshoot heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components.
• Measure, cut, and connect piping using specialized welding and brazing equipment.
• Start-up systems and conduct rigorous testing for leaks using electronic and mechanical testing devices.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance, such as recharging systems with refrigerants, checking regulators, and calibrating systems.
• Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
• Handle, recover, and store refrigerants in strict accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical consultation to clients.
• Coach and instruct apprentices, providing guidance and on-the-job skills development.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school and a vocational program in refrigeration and air conditioning.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Red Seal Refrigeration certification and B-Gas Ticket (or equivalent) are preferred.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong English oral and written communication skills for customer interaction and reporting.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment police background check.
• Proven ability to work independently on commercial projects or collaboratively with a team.
