Specialty food buyer
Salary: $36.00 hourly / 30.00 hours per week, regular, full time. Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work setting: Urban area, Retail business.
Requirements: completion of secondary (high) school, 2-3 years of experience in retail establishments, knowledge of inventory control, product selection, product distribution, familiarity with merchandise line of specialty food products. Geographical areas of specialization: Eastern Europe food products and other ethnic products. Basic computer and technology knowledge: Internet, MS Outlook, MS Word. Personal suitability: accurate, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, team player
Responsibilities
Arrange product according to planogram, establish and maintain contact with suppliers, maintain adequate stock levels, organize and maintain inventory of bought and stored products requisition of related materials and supplies, negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers, oversee distribution of merchandise, review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase, select and purchase merchandise for resale in retail establishment , visit trade shows, showrooms, factories and special events.
