Job Title: Assistant Manager - Retail Trade

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Wage: $42.00/hour (negotiable) | 37.50 hours per week

Job Description

Club Ceramic is seeking an experienced Retail and Wholesale Trade Manager to oversee daily store operations at our Saint-Laurent location. This role involves directing, controlling, evaluating, and planning all day-to-day operations, managing staff, analyzing market trends to guide pricing and merchandising decisions, overseeing procurement, and developing marketing strategies - all while maintaining smooth, efficient, and customer-focused store performance.

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Direct and control daily operations
• Evaluate daily operations
• Plan and organize daily operations
• Manage staff and assign duties
• Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes, and effect of competitors' operations on sales
• Determine merchandise and services to be sold
• Implement price and credit policies
• Locate, select, and procure merchandise for resale
• Develop and implement marketing strategies
• Determine staffing requirements
• Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages
• Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers
• Conduct performance reviews
• Supervise office and volunteer staff

Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Requirements / Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields:
  • Construction engineering
  • Engineering/industrial management
  • Civil engineering, other

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Languages: Bilingual (English and French)

Computer and Technology Knowledge:

• Point of sale (POS) system
• Inventory control software
