Minimum requirements
Education: Completion of a post-secondary education
Training/experience:
Completion of a relevant electrical program OR several months of on-the-job training will be provided.
Language: Functional English – ability to read technical manuals, complete service logs, and communicate with team members.
Physically able to lift up to 50lbs, work in noisy/greasy environments, and follow safety protocols.
Key responsibilities
Inspect and test electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems using diagnostic instruments and measurement tools.
Diagnose and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other types of electro-mechanical equipment.
Replace or refurbish shafts, bearings, commutators, and other mechanical components.
Wind, build, and install different types of coils for electric motors and transformers.
Balance armatures or rotors—both static and dynamic—by welding, brazing, or soldering electrical connections, and by carefully aligning and adjusting parts.
Test and repair faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear systems.
Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment to ensure proper operation.
Perform machining tasks to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, and other parts.
Carry out on-site servicing and repair work when required.

Noisy workshop; exposure to grease, oil, and mechanical parts
Physically demanding: standing, crouching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs
Working with hand and power tools, occasionally in tight spaces
