As an Electrical Engineering Technologist with enCompass, you will be assisting our Engineers with preparing and performing designs for power systems, grounding, lighting, and control systems for enCompass projects.  You will be expected to utilize a variety of technical skills to help design, implement and maintain solutions, varying in size and scope, under the direction of our Manager of Automation & Engineering.  This position may require some travel, based on the location of our project sites.

 

Main Duties include:

  • Assisting enCompass engineers with designing, developing and testing power equipment and systems, industrial process control systems, microelectronic systems and circuits, and computer software
  • Conducting research in fields of electrical and electronic engineering and physics for and under the direction of enCompass engineers
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation to determine work requirements
  • Assisting with the building and testing of enCompass prototypes to specifications
  • Assisting with the inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic components of enCompass projects
  • Calibrating electronic equipment and instruments
  • Conducting the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems
  • Setting up and operating specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, power equipment, assemblies and systems
  • Writing specifications, schedules and technical reports and control schedules and budgets.
  • Assisting enCompass engineers with expansions and upgrades to existing enCompass projects
  • Maintaining and servicing equipment and providing long-term support and servicing for enCompass projects
  • Assisting enCompass team with preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports
  • Completing work orders, test and maintenance reports
  • Collecting and compiling operational and experimental data
  • Actively participating in Environmental, Health and Safety protocol and developing a thorough understanding of our safety policies and procedures

 

Employment Requirements:

 

  • Completion of a two- or three-year college program in electrical of electronics engineering technology, computer engineering technology, or equivalent.  Registration with the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) will be considered an asset; Experience with programming languages such as Python and AutoCAD will also be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervised work experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
