Position: Hairdressing Salon Supervisor

Job type: Full time & Permanent

Pay: $23-25 hourly (depending on experience)

Shift and schedule: Shift, to be determined

Language: English

Experience: Previous experience in retail, customer service, barbershop, salon, or a supervisory role is an asset.

Education:  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; post-secondary education in business administration, customer service, or a related field is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, assign, and review the work of front desk staff and other support employees to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Establish work schedules and assign daily duties to ensure adequate staffing and smooth customer service.
  • Supervise front desk operations, including appointment scheduling, customer reception, and payment processing.
  • Resolve work-related issues and customer service concerns, and assist in maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
  • Train staff on job duties, customer service standards, workplace safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Monitor the quality of customer service and operational performance, and provide guidance to improve service standards.
  • Ensure computer systems, point-of-sale equipment, and appointment booking systems are operating properly, and coordinate maintenance or repairs when required.
  • Prepare and report operational updates to the owner, including staff schedules, inventory levels, and daily operational activities.
  • Perform front desk and customer service duties as needed to support daily operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a barbershop, salon, retail, hospitality, or customer service environment is required.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate staff, prioritize work, and maintain efficient daily operations.
  • Experience using appointment booking systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and basic computer applications is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable, professional, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
