The job duties of this occupation included:
Designing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and educational activities to stimulate children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Engaging children in various educational activities, such as storytelling, arts and crafts, music, games, and outdoor play, to promote learning and development across different domains.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of children under their care by providing supervision, assistance with personal hygiene, and attending to their basic needs.
Observing and assessing children's development and progress, identifying areas of strength and areas needing improvement, and communicating these observations to parents or guardians.
Establishing a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages social interaction, creativity, exploration, and independence.
Develop cooperative connections with coworkers and community service providers who are working with children.
May design and coordinate activities before and after regular school hours for school-age children enrolled in child care services.
Keeping accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any significant incidents, as well as maintaining compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
May oversee and plan the work of early childhood educator assistants and other early childhood educators.
