Responsibilities

Tasks

• Determine the size of food portions and costs
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas
  
  Specialized Tasks
• Prepare traditional Indian sweets (gulab jamun, jalebi, rasmalai, barfi)
• Make milk-based sweets (kheer, payasam, basundi) and halwa
• Create fusion desserts blending Indian and Western flavors
• Cook meals using standard recipes with Indian spices
• Make Indian breads (roti, naan, puri, paratha)
• Prepare vegetarian and vegan dishes
