Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $36.00 per hour

 

Vacation:                     4% in lieu of paid vacation days

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Operate boom truck crane to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
  • Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
  • Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning and lubricating cranes.
  • Ensure material is rigged, hoisted and landed in accordance with safety requirements
  • Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Completion of a one- to three-year apprenticeship program or industry courses in crane operating.
  • CraneSafe Certificate – Level A for Folding Boom – 10 tonnes & under
  • BC driver’s licence.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Must possess the following skills: manual dexterity and the ability to lift and move heavy objects, the ability to understand verbal and written instructions, ability to organize assigned tasks, and the ability to envision all steps in assigned tasks.
