Overview

• Assess work assignments (installation and service) provided by dispatch and maintain communications with dispatcher and supervisor regarding the solution provided.
• Diagnose and/or correct all technical problems (cable television, high speed internet and home phone) to the satisfaction of the customer and in accordance with the company specifications at subscriber’s premises.
• Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.
• Install, remove, maintain, and repair aerial and underground telephone and other telecommunication transmission lines.
• Installation and testing of single mode and multi-mode fibre (Mechanical termination & fusion splicing).
• Installation and testing of network and voice cabling (Cat Se, Cat 6).
• Install and service fiber optic cable.
• Climb heights and work on ladders/poles.
• Report and communicate with other company personnel for proper completion of installation/service orders.
• Operates computerized testing systems (Fluke DTX1800, OTDR) on lines and equipment, determining the nature, cause, and location of failures.
• Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment, and software.
