Job Summary:

Smith’s Bar and Restaurant, a vibrant Irish pub located in the heart of Vancouver’s Gastown district, is seeking a full-time, permanent Marketing Coordinator to lead its marketing and promotional efforts. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving customer engagement, enhancing brand visibility, and supporting business growth through strategic marketing campaigns and events aligned with the pub’s traditional Irish culture and ambiance.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and execute integrated marketing campaigns that reflect Smith’s brand as a traditional Irish pub with a modern urban presence, targeting local, tourist, and sports-oriented audiences.

  • Manage and implement strategic advertising partnerships at high-visibility venues including BC Place during Vancouver Whitecaps, BC Lions, and Rugby 7s events, ensuring campaign delivery and audience fit.

  • Lead initiatives to position Smith’s Bar for advertising alignment with upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup activities, including outreach to regional sponsors and affiliated marketing platforms.

  • Coordinate and manage multi-channel marketing efforts across Email, SMS, Social Media, Digital Ads, OOH, Print, and Radio, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all touchpoints.

  • Design, build, and deploy segmented email campaigns including audience targeting, copywriting, and analytics tracking.

  • Develop and execute SMS promotions for time-sensitive campaigns.

  • Manage social media strategy, scheduling, and execution across Meta platforms, including organic and paid content, influencer collaborations, and community engagement.

  • Oversee creative development, production, and placement of traditional advertising, including radio spots, print ads, and in-stadium OOH signage, ensuring timely execution and compliance with media guidelines.

  • Analyze key campaign performance metrics across all platforms, preparing monthly reports on engagement, reach, ROI, and audience segmentation to support future campaign optimization.

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with key partners and third-party agencies (e.g., Astral, Roar Media), coordinating timelines, media buys, and creative approvals for all external-facing initiatives.

  • Collaborate with community partners including the Gastown BIA, Downtown Vancouver BIA, and tourism boards to develop and execute community-based marketing activations and seasonal events.

  • Direct content production planning including photoshoots, videography, and copywriting to support campaign assets and brand storytelling.

  • Maintain and manage the annual marketing calendar, aligning promotions with seasonal business needs, community events, and partner activations.

  • Support internal reporting processes and oversee junior marketing staff, ensuring consistency in branding, timelines, and campaign execution standards.



Wage/Salary: $77,000/annum

Benefits: Extended Health Benefits after 90 days, 6% Vacation Pay

Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Location of Work: 208 & 212 Carrall Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 2J1 AND 656 Leg in Boot Square, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 4B5 (IRL Group Headquarters).

Language of Work: English, Written and Spoken

You must be available to work weekends and evenings as required, due to event responsibilities, both on-site and off-site.

 

Skills Requirements

Education: At least a two-year post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Media, Communications, Business or a related field is required.

Work Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on professional work experience in marketing or advertising coordination, with a clear and demonstrated history of multi-channel campaign experience across: Email, SMS, Social Media, Digital Advertising, Print, Out-of-Home (OOH), and Radio.

Skills/Licensing: 

  • Demonstrated and verifiable experience managing advertising partnerships with large-scale venues, sports teams, or event properties (e.g., stadium placements, sponsorships, or brand activations at live events).

  • Demonstrated and verifiable experience in marketing within hospitality, food & beverage, or entertainment venues, preferably with a focus on event-driven or sports-affiliated campaigns.

  • Demonstrated and verifiable experience working with external creative agencies, media vendors, or platform partners to develop, schedule, and monitor advertising campaigns.

  • Demonstrable proficiency and verifiable work experience with digital campaign platforms (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, E-mail marketing platforms, Google Ads) and experience with performance reporting, A/B testing, and campaign optimization.

  • Demonstrable proficiency and verifiable work experience with content creation software and content scheduling platforms.

  • Demonstrable proficiency and verifiable work experience using email marketing tools such as Mailchimp, MailerLite, or Xtremepush, and SMS marketing platforms such as SMS Global, with a working knowledge of Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and local privacy compliance standards.

  • Demonstrable proficiency and verifiable work experience with CRM, collaboration, and task management platforms such as Salesforce, Streak, or Smartsheets, in the context of marketing, outreach, or campaign execution workflows.
