Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Assistant

• Hourly Wage: $23.00

• Hours: 30- 40 hours per week

Education & Experience

• Education: College/CEGEP

• Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Responsibilities

As an ECE Assistant, you will:

• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.

• Maintain daycare equipment.

• Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

• Help with keeping records and observations of children.

• Encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.

• Engage children with stories, songs, and crafts.

• Support children with eating, dressing, and toilet habits.

• Monitor for potential learning or behavioral concerns and prepare reports for parents/guardians or supervisors.

• Submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors.

• Participate in staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and any issues.
