Salary: $21.00 per hour | 35–40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
Start Date: February 1, 2026
Work Location: On-site at employer’s residence

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker to provide daily living assistance and companionship to an elderly couple in a private household. The couple primarily communicates in Mandarin; therefore, the ability to understand or speak basic Mandarin would be an asset and help ensure comfortable, effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist seniors with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene

• Administer bedside and personal care, including medication assistance as directed

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals suited to dietary needs, with a focus on Chinese cuisine.

• Support regular exercise and accompany seniors on short walks

• Accompany seniors to medical appointments and social outings as needed

• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support

• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and maintain a safe, clean living environment

Requirements

• Language: English required; knowledge of Mandarin is an asset to communicate more effectively with the seniors

• Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required

• Experience: 7 months of relevant caregiving experience

• Certificates:

  • First Aid Certificate

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate preferred

• Other Requirements:

  • Must pass a medical exam

  • Basic security clearance required

  • Valid driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract

Work Conditions

• Physically demanding; involves assisting with mobility and occasional light lifting

• Non-smoking environment

• Daytime schedule on weekdays, with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, or occasional overnight stays depending on clients’ health and appointments

• Work must be performed on site at the employer’s home (no remote option)
