Overview

GG Developmental Therapy Services Inc. seeks two qualified Instructors of Persons with Disabilities to join its team in Brampton, Ontario. The positions are full-time, permanent, and based exclusively on site.

Education Requirements

• Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a one- to two-year program.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum: 1 month
• Maximum: Less than 7 months

Work Setting

• Office building

 Key Responsibilities

• Assess clients’ cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals.
• Assess individuals’ physical limitations, orientation abilities, and mobility to develop rehabilitation strategies.
• Instruct students in reading and writing braille.
• Instruct students in lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language.
• Teach rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic device use, and wheelchair operation.
• Instruct on the formation and development of sound for speech using hearing aids and other assistive devices.
• Assist students in developing life skills.
• Collaborate with specialists to design individualized programs for clients with special needs.
• Develop individualized education and intervention plans tailored to client needs to promote independence.
