Job Description

Heavy Truck Driver (ROADSHIP FREIGHT SYSTEMS)

Location: Milton, ON
Wage: $36/hour, 40–70 hours per week
Employment: Permanent, Full-time
Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Setting: On the road; frequent/constant travel, long haul & cross-border

Key Responsibilities

• Operate straight or articulated trucks (flatbed, tractor-trailer)

• Perform pre-trip, en-route & post-trip inspections

• Transport goods, including dangerous goods

• Maintain trip logs, cargo records, fuel usage

• Communicate with central dispatch

• Ensure safety, secure loads, tarping

• Team driving or convoy driving when required

• Travel: local, national, regional, short- & long-haul, U.S. cross-border, international

Requirements

• Secondary school certificate

• 1 to less than 7 months experience

• AZ license + Air Brake (Z) endorsement

• Ability to drive manual transmission

• Valid passport

• Clean driving record

• Able to travel long distance, cross-border, overnight

• Able to handle up to 9 kg

Documentation Experience (preferred)

• Bill of lading

• Driver logbooks & trip reports

• Accident/incident reports

• Trans-border documentation

• Inspection & maintenance reports

Tools / Equipment

• GPS, trip recorder

• Cell phone, steel-toed boots, hard hat
