Job Description
Job Description and Duties:
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule
- Analyze financial transaction statements and conduct monthly account and bank reconciliations
- Analyze and organize cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills
- Maintain AR and AP sub-ledgers, general ledgers, payroll and financial statements;
- Disbursement of bills including GST/Income Tax payable, electricity bills, rates, etc
- Prepare and post journal entries as required and prepare trial balance of books;
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Work with other departments to reconcile accounting records with internal databases and complete adjustment entries with approval
- Prepare and complete tax returns, and submit tax remittance forms and other government documents
- Monitoring the sales of the franchisee stores and ensure proper accounting principles comply with the company policies and procedures
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports as required
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Long Term
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Wages: $25.00 per hour
Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations
Benefits Package:
- Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by the employer
- Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis
Location of Work: #122 - 2 Automatic Road Brampton, Ontario L6S 6K8 Canada
Anticipated Start Date of Employment: As soon as possible
Education, Experience and Language Requirements:
- At least two years of proven experience in a financial role
- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree (related to business administration, commerce, accounting, bookkeeping or a related field)
or
Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., CPA, Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting) or courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk
- Sound knowledge of financial and accounting practices and tools.
- Verbal and written English communication skills
