Job Description

Cook – Indian Cuisine

Employer: AHM Alliance Trading Company Corp DBA The Yellow Chili

Job location: #2 8737 120 Street Delta, BC V4C 6R4

Salary: 15.75 hourly

Hours: 40 per week

Terms of employment: Full time/Permanent

Education: High School

Language: English

Experience: Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks or Completion of college or other program in cooking or over 2 years of commercial cooking experience are required.

Skills: Experience of working on Tandoor is an asset.

Start date: As soon as possible

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook full course Indian meals including vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes such as butter chicken, chilli chicken, karahi chicken goat curry, Shahi paneer, lamb curry, mixed vegetables, fish curry, rice, biryani etc
• Prepare and cook Indian appetizers
• Prepare and cook Tandoori items such as naan, roti, kababs, chicken, cheese, and fish etc
• Plan menus and ensure quality of food and determine size of food proportions
• Follow sanitation procedures
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
