Job Title

• Assistant Buyer -  (NOC 6222)

Job Responsibilities/Duties

• Purchase merchandise for resale by retail or wholesale establishments
• Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase
• Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials and visit trade shows and supplier/vendors factories in remote Africa.
• Select the merchandise which best fits the establishment's requirements
• Interview suppliers/vendors and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements
• Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets and maintain adequate stock levels. Establish and maintain contact with suppliers
• Responsible for maintaining inventory levels required for effective company operations
• Reviewing purchase agreements and maintaining open lines of communication with our vendors/suppliers
• Reconcile receiving errors with shipping as well as follow up with suppliers as needed to confirm or change orders

Terms of Employment

• Permanent, Full-Time
• 35 hours per week
• $25.50 - $27.50 per hour (negotiable based on experience)

Employment Qualification and Experience Requirement

• Completion of college diploma
• 2 – 3 years of related work experience
